Flute: Lesson 04, Members Of The Flute Family

Continuing your study of the Flute. In this lesson, instructor Bonnie Schmader will teach students about the members of the Flute Family.
  • Piccolo Flute- pitched an an octave higher than the soprano flute. Non-transposing, key of C concert.
  • Soprano Flute – also known as the C Flute. This is the most common variety of flute. Non-transposing, key of C concert.
  • Alto Flute – much larger than the soprano flute and pitched a fourth lower. Plays in concert key of G.
  • Bass Flute – the largest and lowest pitched flute of all! Non-transposing, key of C concert.
This course is taught by Bonnie Schmader, a Flute studio instructor located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
