Prepare for your NM All State Timpani audition.

In this lesson percussionist Nick Baker gives an easy to understand, measure-by-measure breakdown of the NM All State Timpani audition etude. This etude is from the book, “Studies in Copper: 15 Orchestral Etudes For Timpani” by Alex Orfaly. The required piece is Etude #2, measures 1-47. Students will need to purchase this book or acquire a copy of this music from their band director in order to follow along with this lesson.
