bass drum, or kick drum, is a large drum that produces a note of low definite or indefinite pitch. A bass drum is typically cylindrical, with the drum’s diameter much greater than the drum’s depth. It is the largest drum of the orchestra. In this lesson we will discuss:
  • Mallet technique
  • Muting the bass drum
  • Playing single strokes
  • Playing rolls
