Introduction to the Cajon with Nick Baker

The Cajon, or box drum, is a box shaped percussion instrument originally from Peru. It is played by slapping the front or sides with the hands and fingers or sometimes with implements such as brushes. While the Cajon has it’s roots in Afro-Peruvian music, it has also gained popularity in Flamenco and other types of mainstream popular music. In this masterclass, we will discuss:
  • Techniques for creating a variety of tones
  • Reggaeton groove
  • Lando groove
