Prelude in A Major

Continuing in our studies from John Thompson’s Modern Course For The Piano Second Grade Book, today’s lesson will cover Prelude in A Major on page 24. In today’s lesson we will discuss the following topics:

• Focus on the melody

• Dotted 8th notes

• Use of the pedal

• Stride piano technique

Students will need to purchase their own copy of this book so they can follow along with these lessons.
