Sessions Academy – Great Beginnings!

Music is often described as an elevated form of communication. ​Its healing properties have opened channels of communication through diverse rhythmic properties. As a freshman in high school I knew I wanted to work in the music field. So I pursued music therapy in college. Performance was just another level of interaction – musical encounters led to a greater sense of peace and fulfillment. I learned to take this same skill set to public performance assembling a team of diverse musicians that could also entertain on different levels with groups.

Teaching music is yet another rewarding music business. While school districts struggle to improve curriculum’s with dwindling budgets, music is often treated as non-essential. We built Sessions Academy with early music education in mind. The first step is MusicMoment modules, consisting of 10 five minute music appreciation pieces for use in 3rd-8th grade classrooms. Once a class finishes a module they receive a Sessions Reward giving them a free month of online music lessons at Sessions Music Academy where lessons range from on-demand to group or private music lessons. ​

Our teachers are also gifted musicians able to co-write, arrange, record, mix and master music tracks alongside writers looking for a complete music experience. We add back-up vocals, drums, bass, guitar, strings and horns to mixes, all without the writer ever stepping foot in our studio.

The idea then is to motivate music appreciation early on in elementary and mid school. We then help develop music skills and finally provide the music networks to write and record.
